Mountains make for the best getaways. It's hard to find a seacoast that isn't over laden with housing and noise now a days.zippiknits...sometimeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17385498014336581117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7115059.post-59270459999541190732012-10-15T18:50:59.585-07:002012-10-15T18:50:59.585-07:00Hi Diana. Thank you for your great suggestions. ...Hi Diana. Thank you for your great suggestions. I think you are right about letting the mother leaf wither. I've made cuttings grow, and this is the second time that I tried a leaf in water. My mom did it all the time, but she had better luck with all sorts of things, like layered rooting on many plants, and plant splicing.

What a great idea to use a parasol tree in the rose zippiknits...sometimeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17385498014336581117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7115059.post-67387401926320160142012-10-15T18:50:34.335-07:002012-10-15T18:50:34.335-07:00I feel soooo special that you left me a Bluebird p...I feel soooo special that you left me a Bluebird photo!!! That is awesome! oooooh, love your friday fill in's...I think those would have been 'loaded' fillins if I had completed them this week *sigh*...so I escaped to the mountains instead :)PJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00104319952137455099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7115059.post-58491403127495214832012-10-13T03:03:29.764-07:002012-10-13T03:03:29.764-07:00never did have much success with African violets, ...never did have much success with African violets, but maybe next time, just cut the mother leaf in half. The wound will scab over, and there will be not so much weight, not so much demand for water. Or, maybe wait till the mother leaf starts to wither?

My roses need dappled shade to survive high summer. I have planted a parasol tree in each bed. It's worth a try if you love roses, Diana Studerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12286066768376135880noreply@blogger.com
