  2. We have only visted there once, but just fell in love with the area. I don't know which is better... your photo or Trish's weekend memories!! And here I sit in front of the computer monitor in my jammies with a cup of coffee...

  3. Hi Sharon, if you come to the States, I hope that you have time to travel up the Pacific Coast. It's not too very urbanized and worth a look. That gorgeous sweater you just finished is sure worth a look, too. whoot!

Trish, what a beautiful place to get married! In your honor I put up a link to the web cam at Nepenthe's. I didn't make it there but we did see it as we drove by several times to hiking trails and outlooks. Come on Back!

Oh Jane, isn't it lovely, this Pacific. Yours is gorgeous, too, and someday I am going to come see it.

wabbitmom, What better way to go blogreading? You need to come out to the Central Coast and just while away some time again. September/October is the best time, as it's still warm and the clearest of the months for viewing scenic wonders. To see the white sand beach at Carmel around sunset is Heaven itself.

  4. That photo makes me want to be back in California - it was just a short year that I lived there - but the year was chock full of memories and beautiful shores.

  6. Come on back and stay a bit, Karen. I'll meet you up there if you come at the right time. Monterey is a good place to have memories off. Much nicer than, say, Holtville. Holtville has no ocean, it's only real failing.

I think I can hear the waves, Pugnits. hehe

I'll tell you one crazy thing about rivers. We were in Yosemite one April when the Merced River was in full flow from the snow melt. We stood in the parking lot and listened to it, and I turned and said to DH, "That river sounds just like a freeway!" It really did, as hard as that is to believe. It was so high it was rolling boulders that sounded just like tractor-trailers passing by. It was downright disturbing!
