This is going to be a roll rimmed hat and scarf for memememe. It goes beautifully with a poofy winter coat that just needs a little something, in this case it will be something to make me look like a complete michelin (wo)man. I'm past caring. I just like being warm now. Being warm is of primary importance when a person reaches my age, and this desire is even greater than the one to be cool in Summer. Summer, when it takes a tub full of cold water and a dozen little indian dresses to stay cool. I wish to be warm in winter even if that makes me look like a Zamboni hurtling around on the ice.
Having nice clothes is a true pleasure. "nice defined as: well fitting, well made, pretty..and make us look thinner, younger, richer, etc." But I so agree! At our age, creature comfort is much more important, so if the first three requirement are met, the heck with the rest. I can't wait to see the results! I love the yarn. I have some, but never saw that colorway. Still don't know what to do with mine...working on that.

ReplyDeleteAs soon as one pair of socks is finished, I will cast on the scarf; I've got so many things on the needles.. GAH! In the past I was a monogamous knitter but it's gotten all out of hand!
I was up at 5 am this morning and so now must go forage!
Clothing just has to be a pretty color now. That's all I really ask. hehe

ReplyDeleteI've tried to stay away from the yarn aisles but SWS is so worth wading through all the screaming skeins ("buy me buy me!") to get to. Novelty yarns were terribly expensive in bygone years so they are very big temptations.
