Frozen at Grand Central Station

Have you seen this video ??? It's funny, and maybe even a bit scary, but definitely fun. J sent it to me, since I'm not a good digger up of videos. It's copyrighted by ManicWorld an online Video group that does some very interesting videos. I'm not sure they are all PC or rated G, so, take care over there.

The knitting is coming as well as can be expected when the knitter is trying to dig her way out the hole created when something now just HAS to be done about an accumulation of Lapidary Journals either subscribed to or bought in bulk at shows. Most of the field trips- except perhaps the ones to Outer Mongolia- are now gone, having been bulldozed for housing tracts and shopping malled as bedroom communities to the Metropolii. Is that a word?

I just learned of egregious misused of visa of the H-1B type, and so I knit a little in bed to quell the nausea. L sent me this link If you don't like political content, don't go there. But it does point out that there are some Damn fine people on both sides of the aisles of Congress, and we should be proud of them. Thank you L.

I have pictures but the DH is off somewhere foraging, and he is very possessive of his lap top. The pictures are still on the camera. Not flowers but some other stuff. I'll try to make them interesting. The flower bed I fell out of after trying to jump out of it, I admit, has been invaded by sour grass. This is a noxious weed that spreads by itty bitty bulbs and they apparently walk on how ever many legs bulbs can have as well. This is the rose bed, and I didn't dare climb up into it when DH is not here. He has threatened me with my very life should I set foot in there when he is not present. There's always the hoe. Hmmm *thinks about it*

I know you want knitting content but there just isn't any except the heel flaps of two socks and two rows of a shawl and an Aran sweater, the two last being microscopic in reality. So I leave you with this picture of my sister, who just called and told me some hopeful news from her doctor. It's of my sister and a tiny puppy called JR. He's a Yorkshire Terrier and an absolute doll of a doggie.

Remember, smile, but hit below the belt when it's called for. Cheers! Is that PA behavior?

  1. Read the link. As you know this is a real sore subject with me. Sure, industry is terribly guilty, but I also suggest that they look into institutes of higher learning. Truly pathetic. Student visa's to get a PhD and it takes them over 7 years...post BS? And the hiring practices by many many prof's for their reasearch post doc positions is cold. As the article says, the visa holder comes cheap, and they do not really match skill for skill. There is a difference between the two.

I'm delighted to hear of the hopeful news for your sister. We always need hope in our lives, and when it comes from outside ourselves it lifts the spitit.

    Two sisters, two adorable pups!

  2. Meribeth, I am sort of ignorant of student visa abuses. I think what you are saying is that the student visa, at seven years, far exceeds the time really needed? I'm going to email you concerning this.

Thank you for your words about my sister's news. She will be getting her necessary meds in a patch which is supposed to be much better tolerated, and is more effective. She should sleep better and not be so sick all the time.

Isn't that wee JR a doll. He is a friend's dog and he's just as cute now as he was then. Catherine's Murphy is that breed and we all know how cute Murphy is! lol
