The sock, the skein, success!

The boot sock came out lovely muted colors with a black base from the marled (?) Lana Grossa yarn. The skein still has 56.5 grams left, plenty for the other sock.

Other things of interest in the photo are the African Violet which has bloomed for the first time since it was born at the ends of a stem, underwater, in a brown bottle several years ago. The secret is that I am now watering it with brewed Tetley tea. No other fertilizer would make this baby bloom! I learned this in a little LYS called The Knitting Basket. The agate at the foot of the angel is Mexican lace. If it isn't I can blame DH, well and myself because I was too lazy to go look it up! But we both THINK it is Mexican Lace agate.

The hedgerow sock is back on track but needs a little surgery on the side. I have to tink back and straighten out one stitch at the edge of the new gusset. Then I'll be on my way again on it.

We are getting an entire new kitchen. DH decided that it was a lot better to start from the walls out, and to have someone else do it. I think he's right and was totally surprised and stunned when he made the announcement in an off hand way while the contractor was here. I had thought we were getting a face lift and maybe a tuck or two around the stove and fridge. I'm sort of happily shell shocked here. I will keep my five readers abreast of all developments. This is a 50 year old kitchen that has never had a make over. Should be fun.

Have a great Sunday tomorrow and know that love comes to you from all over the place. You just can't shut it out. Hate, well, hate is heavier, and sort of sinks before it gets too far. That's the weather report! Byeeeee!

  2. So excited for you about the new kitchen. You have been doing so much work on your house, I'm sure I wouldn't recognize it! Hope you are all well. Miss our little game, but have been playing with Sar on LOTR. Just a little bit o'fun when we can't think of what to do!

  3. Meribeth, thank you so much, and believe me, there will be lots of photos taken. This is quite an event! We added on in 78, because we had a family of six in 1050 sq ft. But this is the first for the kitchen. It's never been remodeled since the house was built, long before we bought it.

Annie, hiya wee Tryker! I'm so glad you are reading still. Did you hear that Ryzom was finally sold. It's sad, the billionaire who bought it will probably keep it to himself and his friends. Such a beautiful game to not be shared. I was disappointed when hearing that. Tell Keetch and Sar we say hello, please. We sure miss everyone and the good times.

Indeed, you will not recognize the kitchen. It's going to be somewhat different because of more cabinets, and that partial wall will be made into a doorway. And to think it is actually going to happen in my lifetime, too. Amazing.
