DH found it, upside down in the garden. I'm sure the others are all hiding out. There could be a dozen of them or more. I hope we find the rest before the birds do. And it's dusty so maybe it just dug it's way out of that nest that it's mother dug in the rose bed. They usually hatch out at the end of September. It's very flat like it's mother but has brown eyes like it's daddy. I am so excited!

DH dug the rest of the nest up, and there's nothing else in it. No egg shells, not a thing. This is the only little one we are getting. I don't think that the others have just all run into the shrubbery anymore. To have found this one guy in all that stuff out there is a miracle.
