Triplets

While I was dozing late last night, while reading my book by Amy Tan who talks about such thing as dreams, etc., I had a tiny dream. It lasted only for a second, but in it a baby tortoise raced up to me (now in real life they don't move THAT fast)as soon as I stepped out of the side door. Just a few minutes ago, I told DH that he should check for another baby, and lo and behold, there one was, right out on the flat for DH to see. This one is going to be called Mosquito, after a sweet little foster tortoise we once had. Mosquito is on the top, Dusty to the right, and Milagro is to the left in front.

And yes, Baby Luann, they eat roses and rose leaves. This is how they kept themselves well and happy for a week or so until we found them.

To all interested present or future Herpetologists, that is a little scat in the corner, and proves that at least one of the babies is eating enough. ;-)

  3. Dear Baby Luann, You can be sure that I will keep you up with the exciting developments of the Baby Tortoise Triplets. They don't grow very fast, not like you grow, which is indeed a monumental yearly rate, but they will change a little bit over the next few months. I'll keep you posted on all developments, like the egg sack space in their shell closing up. Isn't that exciting? They came from an egg, just like you did!

Meribeth, it's so lovely to have these little fellows around again. It's been approx 10 years that it happened before. We are trying to remember just when. I wasn't blogging back then, nor keeping a journal. That little dream sequence tells me that this was meant to be fun! Brilliant fun! :-)
