The Deadliest Crab

Knitty.com Summer Issue is up, and look what Amber Allison has created! The Deadliest Crab in honor of the Deadliest Catch on the Discovery Channel. DH and I sat on the edges of our seats watching all the back seasons on demand last winter. We don't get Discovery Channel because of our *cough* sucky *cough, cough* Cable Channel company wanting to package it up with a lot of junk channels. We are stubborn luddites here who actually think things could be different, and we pray for them to have some real competition!

Anyway, go look at Knitty and start the summer off right with the cutest and deadliest catch!

If you can't have fun you really can't have much of a life. Go knit a crab. hehe

I'm still taking the measure of the last Major Mountain. Rho, I am going to waddle out towards your position on the starfield. The Earth can stand only so much before it flicks us all off into space anyway. Let's start a colony of knitters with the gang at Rav and KR. And Pogo, please come and bring the family.

The magic is, if you don't pass a citizenship "test", you can't even see our Universe. It keeps out the cranks.

Weapons are Squirt guns only, and maybe some Liquid String. The litmus test for gaining access to our planet is gentleness and the ability to bake a decent pie.

Off to pack the stash and the needles!

  1. Oh! That's my Zodiac sign! I *need* one. Well....maybe not *need* exactly....but you know what I mean.

  2. Everyone needs one of those little crabby things. I'm going to make one as soon as I find the suitable yarns. I know about four kids who'd want one, maybe five.

Scorpio, is it? Will you tell me something? I was served a steamed scorpion in a dream last night and was supposed to eat it! GAH! It was some sort of delicacy. I still can remember trying to get the "meat" off the tail without getting hit in the hand with the "tongs" on the tail. I've been having some very weird dreams lately.

  3. Cancer, the Crab! No scorpions, thank goodness. I like spiders and snakes just fine, but cannot stand scorpions! I once worked in a building in Miami where the telephone installers found a seven inch scorpion under the building - was like a lobster! Ick ick ick ick.

  4. That was a huge scorpion! I've seen some desert ones that were sort of big. Oh, I see it was in Florida. Yep. Those "tropical" sorts can be huge. I'd have loved to just have a look at it. From a distance.

Spiders and snakes that don't bite, I like, too. Well, I don't like large boas either. Hmmm? Rosey boas, now, they are adorable little guys.

  5. Scorpio - scorpion connection was just my mind taking a sidereal slip. It happens lots these days. I know cancer is a crab. My Dreamland has been full of strangeness lately.
