The Crows that led me to the roses the other day are still around. There are three of them. The petite daisies have been beckoning me to take their picture for three weeks but this is the first day I had a camera. I think the Crow's roosting tree, or perhaps they have a nest there, is the one providing shade for this picture, and the feather is a natural fall from molting.
I'm reading Jan de Hartog's novel(about Holland's Tug fleet during WWII) called The Captain. Jan de Hartog is a wonderful writer. If I could write like anyone, it would be this author, a perfect blend of humor, irony and sassiness.
My own grandfather ran away to sea at 14.
