Corvette Diner ..

The Corvette Diner is in new digs at Liberty Station, off of Rosecrans. It has a lot of the old signage and a beautiful 'Vette in the front entry, old salvaged Neons from Downtown, which are all working, and a Mirror Ball overhead, picking up all the colors. There's a live DJ who plays requests, and the very true to the era 50's decor of course. The onion rings are the best I've ever had, the fries are also delicious, and made from fresh cut potatoes, cooked crispy and perfectly.

That bottle of root beer with the cherry on top is how it's served, and it's brewed with an old recipe. Delicious! DH had a Pink Lemonade. This is not a cheap place to eat, but it's lots of fun and the food is fresh and very tasty, and great service!

Next time I will try a salad because, with all my diet restrictions, I can't really get what I want- apologies to Mick- which was one of those amazing malted milk creations that went floating by, with a burger and those terrific fries. Yum!

The waiters and waitresses are dressed in black mechanic style shirts, with appropriate patches made up to look like what a car mechanic gets after passing, say, the courses at GMC or Monroe Shocks. Very Cool place!
