Happy Mother(ing)s Day

Wishing you a lovely day, fur babies and even reptiles count! hehe

For awhile now I've been being told by very knowledgeable friends and family to "read happy stuff!" So, there's a new Monica Ferris out! She is writing a series of books, called something like "The Needlecraft Mysteries", that are really enjoyable. Inside every book of hers is an embroidery or cross stitch pattern.

And, a friend just told me about another series HERE Now that one sounds like fun, too. There be recipes!

Until my knitting mojo comes back, this should be a good thing to do, read the light hearted stuff. Maybe it's time to read "Lucia" again.

  1. I've cut off my news consumption. It's helping.

I think we should start a movement to have mother's day attached to the full moon, because. What do you think?

  4. To K, I think it's the only thing that actually works, cutting off the news exposure to a level that is reasonable. The media has done such a rotten job of reporting for the last, say, three decades, that they've become irrelevant. They didn't keep us informed as was their duty, since it is THEY who have Access to the places where we cannot go. They failed the democracy.

And yes, we should have Mother's day attached to the full moon, in the way that Easter is. Easter is the first Sunday after the first Full moon following the Vernal Equinox, but why can't Mother's Day be the first Sunday after the next full moon?

  5. Thanks so much TGL. And yes, Monica Ferris is a great escape for the war weary! I think I'll buy it, too, since I don't want to wait for it to pop up at the library!

  6. PJ you're welcome. And there is yet another set of mysteries that aren't about homicides. They are gentler. That's for when we REALLY want to escape along the yellow brick road. I'm ready, I can tell you! Let's have a big meet up, and bring our crafts and some cookies to share. Silence to read will be a law! Yes, a law. So say we all! hehe
