I would encourage anyone who wants to adopt a pound puppy to do so. All you need is Love, love, love. Well, some vet bills but, hey, who's counting?
In October, just home from the shelter...
His poor little body, as it looked then... He was very underweight, too. He was feral, sick and starving when picked up off the streets as a stray. The shelter folk really did a lot to get this sweet little fellow ready for a forever home.
April ( I think) of this year. He is waiting for his treat.
July of this year. He's a most happy fella.
That's more or less Wolfie's rug. And his coat is thick, shiny and soft as an angora rabbit. The groomer has probably cut at least a pound of "fleece" off of him for the summer.
Jackjack is a pound puppy and he was really skinny when I got him too! He's changed so much in the years I've had him. I completely agree about all it takes in love and some med bills. :) And good training helps too!
ReplyDeleteHi Gnat! Thanks for your comments about pound pups, and yours really is a cutey. I looked at your blog.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, vet bills, as with any little critter, and Good Training! We are working on a few things with Barkey, I mean Wolfie! He's a good boy and learning fast, though. Yay! My aching ears!
What a difference nine months of love makes! It's hard to believe my Roxy has been with me nine years already. They become such a bog part of your life so quickly.
