Today, I was thinking of the trip up Mount Whitney that DH and three DDs took a few summers ago. They started talking about a trip up Mount McKinley, or even Mount Rainier, that is until the Poppa did more research into both of those. Ice climbing? Rainer still shows some promise but "Mt. McNasty" is off the list forever!
I kept this cartoon because at the time it fit right in, and is hilarious! I love "The Other Coast" cartoons! Take note of the color of the "Master's Nose" as it changes?
The way back machine:
This is my eldest little brother when he was about 8 months old. He's with our Cocker Spaniel, Cinder. By the time that we moved from this house, Cinder was gone from our lives to be replaced by an absolutely lovely red Doberman called Clipper. Clipper came from a friend of the family who couldn't keep him in their yard. Well, he wouldn't stay in our yard, either. He was huge and rangy and could easily jump a six foot fence while approaching it from the short hillside at the end of our property. My Bro was a blue-gray eyed blonde for the first few years of his life. He was so darn cute, and he was my first official "live baby doll."
This next photo, taken somewhat later, is of my Bro and his wartime "stroller". somewhat modified from the one on Craig's list. My parents had friends who could machine things and weld, so this is modified to include a foot rest for a toddler.
He seems pretty happy with it in the picture. He was one of the happiest little babies, anyway, despite Psycho Dad who gave him a black eye at Christmas time. Psycho Dad knocked him completely out of his high chair at the dinner table. I could still happy pull the plug on our freaking paternal unit.
DH found a stroller just like my Bro's, except that thing in the back. On Craig's List no less, a few minutes ago. lol
Well, never mind childhood angst....
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I know it's either raining like heck or snowing. We have sun but it's a chilly 62 degrees out. Well, you know, that is chilly for San Diego. Brrr! My hands are freezing so I am going back to bed with my bear book!
