  1. Where is this located? I wonder how noisy these villages were, when they were full of people. And what they spent their days doing?

    1. They were farmers, and probably goatherds, and had fields in what is now called Canyon de Chelly. That was hundreds of years ago, and they had a pretty good life until circumstances - I won't speculate - drove them out. They are called something like The Ancient Ones, and the Pueblo Tribes are their descendents. My kinda people. :-) They probably spent their days hunting rabbits, hauling water, and spinning stuff. The Hopi still are master cotton spinners and weavers, and back in days of yore, they had trade routes that came all the way to the West Coast. Sounds more fun that modern living to me.

    1. It certainly is. It's called "White House" for some reason. Hope that you get to see it someday. We went in October/November, on the tail end of a Rockhound excursion to four corners. If you go, remember to go to the mesa tops above the Canyon de Chelly, and you'll find Navajos selling lovely things that they've crafted. We were there looking for some of the Tribe that sells some very nice hunks of Jasper that is found on their lands. Nice folks, too. We had a wonderful time in Four Corners, and visiting Second Mesa and also, Canyon de Chelly.
