Thursday 13. Paper cutters, some chat. some chaff, but no rants.

But first, the little promo:  Go HERE if you would like to see more participants in Thursday Thirteen, or if you would like join in and post one of your very own.

It's fun and easy as pie.  Until it gets harder that is. 😉 They never tell you this! lol

I'm busily cleaning out my crafting over burden.  However it's not all getting the heave ho.
One of the things I want to do, is start making cards again.  I have about 250 rubber stamps and all the various other accouterments of the craft.  It's time to clear space to do it!  These cutters do come in handy for making gift tags and such, though they do not work well on cloth.

But, without further ADO, 😏🙂Here are my thirteen tools to edge papers for card making.

I made the image LARGE (but you can click and make it even bigger) so that it's easier to see them all and what they do.  The squiggles on the black part of the blades shows what each tool does.  The "oddball" at the top was bought before I realized that a pair of strictly zig-zag cutters was not needed.  I could have just used the pinking shears!
Do not gasp all you seamstresses out there.  Shears can be sharpened.  Just don't let the Hubster get his hands on them for his "Handy Man" projects, like cutting sheet metal.

One thing the Odd Ball cutter did do was make the whole collection come out at 13.  It's interesting how this worked out, though they were all bought well before I even had a blog!
It might be that I've always considered 13 to be a lucky number, since Hexagram 13, in the Book of Changes, is a lucky Augury.  Fellowship with others in the open, meaning, one big swap meet. or perhaps a long and lovely Camp out!  I could go for this!

Hope you all have a Happy Thursday Thirteen!

    1. Anytime, Mia Celeste. Paper is the greatest invention of man but. of course, printing did us a good turn, too. Ah, scissors to cut paper ranks right up there, too.

  2. It makes a pretty display that also says how serious you are about it.

    1. It does make a pretty display doesn't it? It's very "floral". I'm really serious about card making. I plan to make my own sketched, as well as water colored, paper inserts. I can't do big things now, so little is fine enough. We all must keep the artist in us alive.

  3. A Perfect Gift for a the Cray-Cray Crafter in your life...
Choose from an assortment of backgrounds.
Mounted on a fabric wrapped frame, Attached to a stretched Canvas (color of your choosing), or strung onto an embroidery hoop for that special older crafting friend in your life.

    XD XD XD

...On a serious note, this would make a pretty awesome still life in acrylic, watercolor, or mixed media. :)

    1. Why thank you, Snoopy. It's sort of Wreath worthy, too. I just need a few more of them to go round, if they are still being sold. heehee
      Happy Thursday 13!

    1. At some point you will, Colleen. All this work or clearing out may take a year, and after that, if I'm still around, it will be a go, and with the hope that nothing else knocks me off my Charger.

    1. I bought them one at a time, with big discounts. It took more than a year to do it. I'm no longer so patient but have gotten too tired to do anything but go with the flow. It's the source of an old lady's patience, being too tired. lol

  6. I never thought about the variety available. The last classroom I worked in had a couple of these in the arts drawer, but I never had much call to use them. Well photographed, too! salute.

    1. Fiskars saw that market and happily they kept making lots of things for scrapbookers and card makers, including these excellent tools. In my dotage, this is one hobbycraft that is not too hard on the hands or the mind. heehee.
Thanks for the salute. *returns Salute* ;) The iPhone deserves the credit for the photo. Amazing gadget!
