Lick Observatory telescope

The eccentric millionaire, for whom this observatory is named, is buried in the center of the deep cement floor of this building. He originally wanted a huge marble monument built in San Jose for his memorial but friends talked him out of that, and they convinced him to build this observatory, which is still in use. It is over a century old.
