Teapot Gas Station

Rachel asked where this little Gas Station is so I went poking around the net; I found this page about it. Thanks Rachel! Your inquiring mind which wished to know opened wide a door of informaion and a another site that has a lot of pictures of many old gas stations.

Meribeth, you're welcome to the word use. Lol.. I do feel like I need a complete OTHER house for a studio! After what I've seen our friends going through, I know it's time to do some serious downsizing before we end up having to have a "firesale" of sorts. We would have bought the house next door if we could have. What a dream studio that place would have been.

The ankle is marginally better - Gout+heat+ not drinking enough water-, and we will go back at the job today. I'll only work for about an hour to get the chairs home.

  1. That's incredible--it's really related to the Teapot Dome scandal? Thanks for the info!

  2. Hope you are mending. We have an old Shell station that is in the shape of a shell and is listed as an historical site. It was probably on the website you were looking at. It's so cute. Enjoy your new to you furniture! I took a class and am actually knitting a lace scarf!! It's a very simple pattern, but I love it. Love to you and perini!

  3. Thanks for the link! It was fascinating!

I have thought about renting a place outside of the home as a studio. I think I would be more productive without so many distractions. ;-)

  4. You're welcome, Rachel, and yes, it was related to that scandal according to another source as well.

Annie! :) Thanks, I will really enjoy having this dining set. And thanks, I am mending well. Just had to take enough of my herbal med to do it. Well, that and icing the bad girl! Glad to hear you are knitting still. The heat here is too exhausting to allow for it, but soon it will be October. Also, that shell station is on the site somewhere. It is really cute. I'll put it's piccie up. :) watchURmail.

Hiya Rissa, you're welcome for the link. Oh boy, about studio space... I thought about renting a space here but it's so expensive that it's not going to ever happen. Artist's lofts in the industrial areas got to be so upscale, almost overnight, that it was silly. I've wanted to have a place in City rent supported Spanish Village here for just forever, but those are just not ever going to be freed up. Oh well, my neighbor actually went broke and lost his house because he could not make enough money as a maker of bronze statues. He is the best artist I've seen in just ages. Really a shame. Me? I'm just going to clear out everything I will never use again, even if it goes to the dump. =0)

  5. The kitchen window makes me want to purr. It looks so homey and cozy. My kitchen window is huge..and rotted, you can even smell it sometimes, but will be replaced in a month.
Space. Sore subject around here. I am fed up with the clutter and 16 years of junk, mine, his and the cats. I am on a mission to clean it out and to have workable space! Firesale? I just want to burn it! There are two issues though. First, my lack of organization. Second, the dh's pension (madness) for keeping (hording) books. But I will prevail!

  6. Hi Meribeth, thanks for your comment about the kitchen window. You will soon have your horrible one replaced and be loving it. A friend now has a huge Garden style kitchen window which she is thrilled with. It overlooks her nice backyard and not just the side of a house next door, 8 feet away.

My DH has sort of cured me of wanting to hang on to SOME books if fiction by buying them only in paperback. Im a book horder, too. They can really add up! There will be a lot of sorting and tossing going on here, too. Oddly, most of what I want to keep is breakable. I'm a true Californian I suppose.
