Merd to Pink!

Enough!

It's the Christmas Season, for Heaven's sake. And the lilies can go back in the picture pile for spring.

I'm migrating all bloglist entries to another tool element that doesn't require prefixes and suffixes. Funnily, Blogspot didn't think to provide it until all the third party hacks started doing "funny things" to their server. For weeks we went listless and then discovered the hack that worked but was helaciously tedious to apply, and some of them didn't work well at all. They made the BlogSpot server roll over and play dead, then sit up for a treat? "More code please, that last was so smelly I want more"! Do it again , do it again!

Ravelry is taking a lot of time, too. Trying to find everything in Rav is bad enough but having to deal with a flickr uploading tool that is almost like a cudgel is downright brutal. But at last some pictures have been uploaded. I am content.

We have another window company coming tomorrow. When will it end? The Prince of Estimates wants yet another, but he says he doesn't but I know he will blame me if we don't get three. I just know it. He doesn't read here anymore. Heck only three people do, so I'm pretty safe in saying this. I will ban him from the Kingdom if he utters so much as a participle. Now it's time to go play the Free Rice game. Try it, you will like it.

  1. Am I one of three? Good. I like intimate conversations.

  2. I feel your frustration! The dh is just like yours...only he delegates the job of getting estimates and never gets involved. Never makes appointments, waits, gets stood up, get told it can't be done (when stupid woman me, knows darn well it can!)...and all that effort to save about 25 dollars!
We had a large front window replaced this fall...the end of a 6 year battle between 4 different armies..the dh, me, the HOA and the management company. The battle ended..dh is happy, the HOA is OK, the management company has a bruised toe...and I am much grayer, more wrinkled and bloody. But at least the HOA and the management did their job! I wish you well with the windows. Next year I willl start the battle to have more windows replaced!

Love the post cards! The Firebird is stunning. But don't forget, the Firebird was a good guy...and sacrificed herself.

  3. Indeed, Sallyjo, you are at the core of the conversational gathering. ;-) Round table? Small coffee style round table, with homebaked goodies,a coffee and tea trolley, and good light for knitting!

Ah Meribeth, we are into round three, or is that the third battle in the War of the Windows? DH now wants to go back to the original company (and so do I) so we are going to have a bit of a tussle, but we hope that will be over before too long. A very nice "ex-used car salesman" is involved, who apparently now sells windows. I do not think he was entirely honest about a few things, and he pressured us. Two strikes! The third was some mumbo jumbo about the bbb rating of his company.

Oh, how I hate dealing with HOAs and you are right, four armies! Apt description. I don't envy you trying to get windows replaced. It takes a LOT of research, notes and a good memory. Actually, I wouldn't rule out a hidden tape recorder at this point, either. tra la...

  4. Oh yes, thanks for your comments on the Post cards. And, the Fire Bird is lovely, isn't she. A noble bird if ever there was one.

  5. I can never get anyone to actually GIVE me an estimate. They come out, they do whatever, then never seem to get back to me. It is infuriating! It is also why my greenhouse is still trashed.

  6. Rissa, that's too bad because a green house is so important to a gardener. Replacement windows on a greenhouse take some demanding work on the part of a handyman, sometimes they just don't know enough about that to even give an estimate. I'm sorry I can't send my bro, who can do such a job of glazing for you. Did you see the Norm Abrams show where he didn't use glass but some sort of channelized plexi-glass?
