The cabinet makers put their hearts and souls into their work. These guys are great! The cabinets are hickory, which is a very hard wood and it gives me the feeling of being in tune with at least some of my ancestors, those from the hardwood hills of Virginia.
I promise this is the last picture before the "after" ones. These glassed in doors will have teapots gleaming out, and there will be little glass chickens peering out the windows, too. At last, they have a proper and relatively dust free home.
Ak! Those cabinets do not belong in a kitchen..or any kitchem *I* would be cooking in! They are gorgeous! ::now to go to my corner and glare at my cabinets::

These are going to be beautiful and make your kitchen look so light and airy!

Now you see what happens when things take too long to get remodeled, Meribeth. lol. Don't wait too long. And I'm only baking in there. DH is going to be cooking and cleaning. heehee. I just have to find functions to attend where cakes and pies are mandatory so as not to have a whole one sitting too long around here. gah! *middle balloons out just from the thought of it all*
ReplyDeleteAnnie, thank you, and the train wreckage is finally gone. Now it's just up to us to do the small stuff. We will still contract out the roof. Those happy days of putting on our own new roof are over. But paint? we can do that, you see, as there are no cathedral ceilings. :)
