Yesterday at Lunch...

Yesterday my sister told us what is going on in her life. Looking up at the sky to let my mind flood with images or words to offer solace to her pain, I saw the angles of the most incredible intensity strike my eye with their sharp and perfect alignments. They instantly reminded me of the edges that living gives us to work our lives out around. You may know them, too, those painfully sharp ones. I took a snapshot to remind me of this day, and the feelings.

I've added three colors over the cloudy skies, to represent feelings that were going through my head while I was talking to my sister, whom we had taken out to lunch to try to cheer up a little. The the colors of the sky filtered to be dark blue for spirit of unconditional love, violet for her considerable fears, and a tiny splash of pink in the corner for our hopes for her.

In the next two days, as she faces a layoff from a job she has held many years, and one she still desperately needs, I'm feeling dread for her but still remain hopeful that, what ever happens, she will be cared for. Her disease is making this thing enormously important because, where others just have an uphill slope, she has to climb a sheer rock face.

  2. Thank you so much, Meribeth, that is so kind. If her stress levels were electro-magnetic, she could pull a loaded freight train up a steep grade with it.

Tomorrow it will be over, one way or another.

  7. Thank you so much Magnusmog.

Last night sis finally called and told me that she still has a job for now. She doesn't know what has happened but she is just very, very grateful.

So, she is doing her best to just learn all she can about the newer system the new office uses, a digi ex-ray cam and something called, "Paperless Office". These new skills are something she can put on her resumé when the time comes. She will work just as long as she can. I have one tough little sister, so I do. Gotta love her :)
