The New York times is giving this number (below) in their article about the weakest link in our democracy being the voting registries HERE
Call Election Protection at 1(866)OUR-VOTE. or, in all numbers: 1(866)687-8683 if you are denied your right to vote. Hopefully it will not be jammed on that day. That has happened before that crucial numbers were jammed.
If you haven't been voting, now is the time to give yourself back a voice in our Democracy. Don't let the foundation be nibbled away under your feet. It may not seem important but your vote is one of your most important tools to be sure your voice is counted. Wear your "I have Voted" sticker prominently and proudly on election day.
This is OUR country. We are the only ones who can really save it, not anyone else. Those "public servants, even the president of the United States, work for us, remember that. They serve the people. That's what the founders of the nation were talking about. That's why politicians are always saying about themselves, "I wanted to enter into public service". Well, make them remember us, the public, when they are serving. It's not a time for them to be helping themselves to everything that isn't theirs but is held in trust for future generations as well.
I'm going to go eat some cherry pie, and try to remember that even the "Great" can be tempted to help themselves to public lands and public money. We are all that stands in their way.
Have a good one!
Mmm, cherry pie.
ReplyDeleteI voted today. I always get a rush from it, but I think this year might be a little bit more.
Congrats for getting out there and voting, even if you filled out the ballot in an easy chair, like I did. heehee
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, this year is pivotal. And today, when I'm answering, it's like 7 more day, yes? I have to go lie down now to recover the mere mention of this....
