Phooey.. and more

I am not knitting I am sewing. And this will go on 'til Christmas, stop for the festivities and begin all over again. I like sewing under the sky lights.

I'm not sure when I'll knit something again. Some of those synapses, little wireless connectors, came unglued in my head, rammed into each other, and short circuited just before the election. Or maybe the emotional pacemaker fizzled? Anyway, I'm different.

It rained, good soaking rain. The little rooted ones are rejoicing.

On the night I met the man I married I intuitively knew I would meet he whom I would share the rest of my life with.

And I'm a thief of good things. Here's one, stolen from Catherine of Bossy Little Dog's Blog. Thank you, Catherine, for so kindly not turning me in.

You are The Lovers

Motive, power, and action, arising from Inspiration and Impulse.

The Lovers represents intuition and inspiration. Very often a choice needs to be made.

Originally, this card was called just LOVE. And that's actually more apt than "Lovers." Love follows in this sequence of growth and maturity. And, coming after the Emperor, who is about control, it is a radical change in perspective. LOVE is a force that makes you choose and decide for reasons you often can't understand; it makes you surrender control to a higher power. And that is what this card is all about. Finding something or someone who is so much a part of yourself, so perfectly attuned to you and you to them, that you cannot, dare not resist. This card indicates that you have or will come across a person, career, challenge or thing that you will fall in love with. You will know instinctively that you must have this, even if it means diverging from your chosen path. No matter the difficulties, without it you will never be complete.

  2. Wow.
That's so powerful. But currently I'm adrift, and anything that looks like knowing what is good for you makes my spiritual mouth water.

  3. k, that's exactly what it felt like, and I'd never had a single intuition like that before that one. Several since but I've always thought that was an amazing first "woman's intuition." Yes, Isn't that a powerful card, too?

Meribeth, Star. That really suits you, the telling of what the card means.

I've never seen all the cards but I do remember the mother in the movie, "Cold Comfort Farm", who was a total gloom queen. She was doing her usual tarot self reading, and turning over the "sun" card one day. Her face just started glowing, her eyebrows raised, and she smiled for the first time in the movie. It was fantastic acting! I love that film.
