Sandy, this is how they look when first starting out, and having been cleaned and smoothed, when the engobes are applied. This is fun. It still takes some muscle but it's not a back breaker like that potter's wheel.
I am in payback mode, reading and staying warm and drinking a nice lot of tea. It took some time to figure out what was wrong with the blog layout, so I'm grabbing my basket of Christmas cards and heading back to a nice warm spot to work.
