I was surprised this afternoon by these brave little guys who have bloomed every year for at least 12 years. As was mentioned last year, they were a free gift with other bulbs and only were supposed to bloom one year. I think they love the pot they are in and their garden spot.
I bet they are a mostly solid color, (a red)
ReplyDeletefancy tulips are created by infecting them with tulip mosaic virus.. makes for beautiful fancy tulips, but it weakens the bulbs.
(they die of the virus after a few years.
HEALTHY tulips (your basic tulip as was once found in nature!) are solid colors (a limited range of colors) and simple form
these tulips last generations!

Once tulips only grew on hillsides in eastern turkey. but they are so pretty, they conned humans into moving them round the world. Their beauty made use desire them, and they live on far away from home, because they drive our desire!

ReplyDeleteAnd, right, these are all yellow, very small, and they have a bright red encasement for the petals before opening full. There's a picture of the partial bloom on March 20th, 2007, and the full bloom on April 4th, 2007.
