Manly sweater, first 20 rows of pattern

I had to dash away to a medical appointment so didn't get to add a blurb to this picture.

The 20 rows are of the pattern, and the next row is another crossing of the cables. It is a great pattern and lovely to knit once you see the whole of it, and can start "reading" the knitting. AR told me that I'd love knitting in the round, and she was right. Thank you AR! Also, Karen, who is my Aran Isle guru, thank you for encouraging me to knit it, and saying that I really could do this thing. I'm just overwhelmed that this sweater is so far along, finally. Yay!

I've had quite a few problems with this sweater that had nothing to do with the pattern itself but arose because I just don't seem to concentrate with the same intensity to detail as once was the case! Senior moments weighed heavily on this poor hapless sweater. I've fallen back in love with it, but I am allergic to the yarn.. Alpaca. The definitive moment was when, having taken an antihistamine my flu like symptoms cleared up! I'll try this again, to knit without taking Benedryl, since I am the only one in my "control group".

Good ol' DH, when he was told of the possible allergic reaction, and that I would knit this sweater if it killed me but I would not be knitting him another one with Alpaca in it, said, "Why can't you just plug up your nose?

Such a Gent! lol!

PS. The yarn is an absolutely perfect match. Having miscalculated the amount needed - Senior moment - I was short a whole lot! Re-ordered two years later, and the same yarn matched! How's that for Knitpicks. YayThem!

Is it just good luck or what?
