Jazzie at Ten and a half years. Valentine's Day 2007
Jazzie at Three years old. October 1999
June 27th 1996 - May 16, 2009...
"The forehead and little ears, have gone where Saturn keeps the years."
Fragment of an E.Robinson Poem
Our Little Brave Heart died in my arms about 1:50 pm today, while being rushed to his vet at the emergency hospital. He was an amazing and brave little friend and knitting buddy. We are so lucky to have had this wonderful little dog in our lives, and grateful we could give him the care he needed, and that his wonderful groomer and vet loved him as we did, too. He was adorable and sweet, and always happy to be going places with us. He was called the littlest Rock Hound by our rock hound buddies.
I didnt know Jazzie personally but I am still quite sad to read this. I am so sorry for your loss and if you need to talk I am here :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Kara. It will be a few days before I can talk about this terrible day, and I thank you for your kind words here and the offer of a shoulder to cry on.
ReplyDeleteYou are a good friend.
Hugs!
Love to you, my sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteAww, Zippi, I'm so sorry for your loss. But glad that you were with him, easing his passing, being the very last thing he saw and felt. He was loved, and returned that love. A good friend is gone, but will never be forgotten. You gave him the ultimate gift, a good death. May we all be so fortunate.
ReplyDeleteMy sympathies for your loss.
ReplyDeleteIt is never easy to lose a friend.
I feel for you and your loss. Your jazzie was loved well and given a good life. I am glad you were with him at the end...
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss of your beloved furry friend. I know how hard it is and what a hole it leaves in our hearts.
ReplyDeleteBig Big Big cyber hug.
Thank you guys. I know every one of you has been through this or even something worse so tonight I went outside to watch the stars, like SandyT suggested. It helped some and every little bit helps.
ReplyDeleteIt was time to change the seasonal header so I thought the little angel could illustrate the space travel theme.
My feeling are still very going everywhere all over the place, but everyone goes through these things. It just the risk we take when loving so deeply. It's worth it.
Thanks again for your kindness and thoughful comforting comments. Now I'll get a stiff drink and take it to bed with me. tra la
I'm so sorry. It is terribly sad when a precious pet dies.
ReplyDeleteLella, I sending you my most heartfelt sympathy. I know how precious that little fellow was to you. I am glad you were able to be with him till the end. May you continue to feel his loving presence now that he's crossed over.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sarah-Hope
Thank you Magnusmug and Sarah-Hope. Thank you everyone, again for your kindness.
ReplyDeleteSarah-Hope, holding Jazzie before he died, and having him reach up to smell my breath, and focus his eyes on me, are both a great comfort and peace to DH and I. Jasper knew his pack was back in control. He even gave us the pack warning howls before he lapsed into unconsciousness.
I really hope to meet this little fellow again. He, DH, and I are kindred spirits.
