If you come to San Diego, and like fish and chips, be sure to try Mrs. Kelley's. It's now called Point Loma Seafoods - I mean it has been for years- but originally the fish and chips take out was called Mrs. Kelley's. Delicious!
The fish are stamped into the cement there, and when kids first see them they are fascinated. I think they are still very beautiful. Click the pic to enlarge it and see the detail and colors.
The day and half day fishing boats come in here at this spot, too, so you can sometimes see the catch, and sometimes you get a mackerel or a bonito from a fisherman who doesn't care for them. Actually, I don't much either but who can refuse such a generous gift? After all, there are ways to use those fish, either to grow corn or to feed the cats.
