In other congressional testimony, the oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens told lawmakers Wednesday the US is “entitled” to Iraqi oil because of the human and financial toll of occupying Iraq. Addressing the Congressional Natural Gas Caucus, Pickens criticized Iraqi plans to open up oil fields to international bidding. Pickens said, “They’re opening them up to other companies all over the world…We’re entitled to it…We even lost 5,000 of our people, 65,000 injured and a trillion, five hundred billion dollars.”"
Gee, and here we thought we were over there to help bring democracy to a country with WMDs and Al Qaida lurking around the basements of Saddam Hussein. Tsk tsk, you never know how all of this is going to pan out, do you, when you go in there to help your self, er help out?

Yes, but a lot of us knew from the "Getgo" that this was about oil. Heck, the day of the invasion my OPTOMETRIST asked me if this was about OIL! We knew it then! It was one of the first things that came up!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, so of course that billionaire is miffed. How stupid. How did he get all that money? If I could get all that money being that stupid, I would keep my mouth shut, frankly.
I mean when ever ISN'T it about OIL? It was discussed from the beginning, behind closed doors, how we were doing to help ourselves to their oil while we rebuilt the country after blowing it to bits.
