That's a penny under new baby's foot and the big coins are quarters.
We are trying to locate any others, but since we were gone for the first week of September, this may be a lone survivor of our 2009 clutch, a clutch we didn't even know was buried by Poco Ono.
Oh my, I hope we don't find too many! But I do hope we find all that are left. Next year we must be VERY diligent about digging up the nest. First you have to find it though. I can see that the mother is getting very tricky about her nests.

ReplyDeleteSqueeee! Little bunny babies are even cuter than baby felines, if that can be imagined. I guess they are both called kittens. Sweet!
ReplyDeleteThe little guy is getting pushed around by his monster bros and Sistahs from last year. He and little Mosquito are going to have to "share" a tiny compartment in the big box. Poor tiny mosquito gets shoved around, too.
Baby Luann says "That turtle is very tiny! Why did she find a new turtle? Is he using that money?"

ReplyDeleteLet's see, TGL, you could tell Baby Luann that the new baby only uses the money when he's able to balance a coin on his back; then BabyT goes out the gate to find a bus to take him to the park, which has lots and lots of grass to eat. Or maybe not tell him this. heehee
Also, BL, Mother Tortoise is very good at hiding her nests, and we had no idea there were any new babies until this little one climbed up on the bank, into the sun. Mother Tortoise is very tricky!
