My sister's complex has these Ornamental Plum trees planted all along the median. The leaves of these small trees are dark purple. Lovely things.
Santa Cruz has plantings of small ornamental pear and plum trees around several cul-de-sacs and they make lovely little flowering trees for small spaces.
I'm tracking down some "native" tulip trees....

love the bloom in San Diego! I have a great pic of my kids when they were younger infront of one of those trees in the Wild Animal Park!

ReplyDeleteWhen the kids were little, and the concerts were still there, we would take a picnic dinner, go later, sit out under the stars on the grassy amphitheater, and hear all manner of music groups. Ah, such lovely memories of the Wild Animal Park!
