I took the poll, but I do wonder what effect it could have. It's not as if there were no polls, petitions or calls informing the president and our elected representatives what the majority of people think. They clearly don't care what we think.
ellen, as you say, they clearly do NOT care what the majority thought but they ARE feeling what we thought now, with all the bad fallout that has happened. The press, which basically ignored most of this throughout the start of two wars etc, are now blathering away. It's sells, and it isn't even sexy!
My feeling are pretty blunt and I intend to express them.
The thing that Pisses me off the most is that this is the only time the Republicans put up a fight about debt ceilings. I can see not other reason for it than to make it into a media feeding frenzy and a major issue for a Democratic president. This is a guy who pulled all their arses out of a fire but now they are making trouble for him? This, so he that doesn't look so good to rest the country?
I think those in Congress at this present time have shown themselves for the jackasses that they are.
For instance, Michele Bachmann, one of the biggest of the big mouths of the Tea Party, benefits from farm subsidies to the tune of a quarter of a million, yes, $250,000 a year for the the Bachmann family farms. We need to cut those subsidies, right along with the children's health benies, and all the other "socialist" programs that benefit people other than the truly needy.
