Sunday Matinee

This is an old  Black and White that's been digitized, and it has one of the funniest scripts ever produced.  It's not in the fashion of a "Christmas Vacation - National Lampoon" slap stick, but a very clever script and acting.  It just has an unfortunate name at the moment.

Barbara Stanwyck is the female lead.
Amazon has it for download.
Netflix has it, too.  It's called, "Christmas in Connecticut"

And, here comes the New Year!  I wish  you a wonderful year -one with lots of Beauty in it.

As for myself, I just want to send sPend (slaps forehead) the rest of what's left of my life making pretty things to decorate other people's lives.

  1. My mother looked like Barbara Stanwyck, but she didn't like to be told so; she preferred to be told she looked like Paulette Goddard. Netflix in the UK doesn't have Christmas in Connecticut (why is life so complicated?) but I will see if I can track down a copy, as I do like a good script with a wisecracking woman. I hope you have a peaceful and beautiful new year.

  2. Hi Helen. Thank you, and I hope you have a lovely, peaceful, healthy, and beautiful year in 2013.

Best wishes in finding the movie in the UK. It's really fun, in an antique way. Also, I was looking at studio photos of both actresses, and they do look very similar in those photos. Both are beautiful in their own way. It would be a compliment for your mother either way.
