This morning I almost fainted when my heart went crazy after I read Dana Siegelman's appeal for her Dad. So I did what I could and just went and made these little heart things for seamstresses and beaders:
The ones in the cup are done, the ones around the edge just need to be trimmed and smoothed. I like this tiny craft and have ordered two other molds from THIS Etsy Shop. I also like THIS one that I just found.
Tuesday Tails is a picture of a peekaboo owl. That's a rock in front so I'm guessing the species is a Burrowing Owl. Well, the rock, and that it looks like a Burrowing Owl.
If I know you bead or sew, and I have your address, beware! |

The silicon molds are pretty easy to make (the designer shows you the snowflake and stuff used to make the mold)I've made a mold at a Makers Faire-- but I realize--It's getting into Another NEW Thing!
ReplyDelete(last year i was offered a huge loom for free. I always wanted a loom, I love weaving (i think) but i realized I don't have time or money to get into a NEW THING.
(I haven't bothered to mold my bee's wax--I have a huge block (half a pound) some went into some home made hand cream (with almold oil, and other oils)and the some went into some special candles..and now the rest is good for sewing until I decide i need to make more hand cream.)
(PS---they are beautiful hearts (and I would hate to use them!)
Oh, thank you about the hearts, and they are made to use up from the bottom. Isn't beeswax lovely? It's sort of soft and a teeny bit sticky not in a bad way, and it's not hard and bad smelling like paraffin.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid to get involved in making silicone molds as it i- as you say - another NEW THING. Gah! I love that you make hand cream. Do you have The Formula Book? I used to make candles .. sand candles of course being so close to the sea, as well as hand dipped ones. There is a recipe for lip balm made from beeswax and chocolate chips running along somewhere on the web. But if you don't like chocolate you could put something else in to flavor it.
I've been offered smaller floor looms but DH said, "No way!" But a floor loom... wow! You are strong to resist it. hehe I wanted a pit loom for a long time, like the Navajo make rugs on. Another, "No Way!" Just think, "A loom would kill my back" and you won't ever be tempted.
