This is the original 5000 question MeMe... I shall start with part one. Hopefully this really won't take ten years.
A quote from the blog I steal things from on Sunday:
3. When you aren't [doing] memes like this one what are you doing?
Cleaning up my junk, reading books, doing crafts and wishing it was art, loving my family, my dog and the human race,. Bless their hearts as I know they all are struggling along and trying to be the best they can be. I think ALL the time about these things.
4. List your classes in school from the ones you like the most to the ones you like the least (or if you are out of school, think of the classes you did like and didn't like at the time).
I liked them all, even the ones I wasn't particularly good at, like arithmetic. I still was in the 88th percentile but hated the stress from it. I knew maths were a magical portal into academia. It also gave me problems with algebra, which I did like a lot, but oddly, no problem at all with Geometry which was amazing!
5. What is your biggest goal for this year?
To organize my space by making it through the year without surgery or other time wasters.
6. Where do you want to be in 5 years?
Alive, if possible, and taking care of my DH, our garden, our dog and our very organized spaces!
7. What stage of life are you in right now?
Contemplative.
8. Are you more child-like or childish?
Child-like, with a twist of rational, task oriented, Spirituality.
9. What is the last thing you said out loud?
"An Apple?" This was in answer to, "What do you want as a treat?"
10. What song comes closest to how you feel about your life right now?
"Sing God a simple Song.
11. Have you ever taken martial arts classes?
Yes
12. Does your life tend to get better or worse or does it just stay the same?
I don't think o life in that way at all. I have learned to take life as it comes. The reason is that I learned a long time ago that when one thing is changed, everything changes. Even a rotten marriage brings children you adore, for instance. In my case, if my childhood had been different, fate would have "moved", and every one I love and treasure now wouldn't be in my life. I cannot begin to imagine having not known all these wonderful people who are in my life.
13. Does time really heal all wounds?
Yes. Sometimes it takes a very LONG time but you must keep working on it.
14. How do you handle a rainy day?
I love rain because I live in a desert. Rain is life giving.
15. Which is worse...losing your luggage or having to sort out tangled holiday lights? Definitely losing your luggage is worse. Tangled Christmas lights are a piece of cake to a knitter.
16. How is (or was) your relationship with your parents?
Mother was wonderful. Dad was a Psycho. He was one of those people you just have to survive until they have no power over you. See answer 12.
17. Do you tend to be aware of what is going on around you?
I'm hyper alert. It's called Hyper Vigilance, I think.
18. What is the truest thing that you know?
I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that there is a Deity that cares about us.
19. What did you want to be when you grew up?
An Artist, and a mother. I forgot about being an artist about three years into motherhood because I read about Paloma Picasso's childhood. I knew I needed to be a good mother first and artist last, if at all.
20. Have you ever been given a second chance?
Not sure what this means exactly.
21. Are you more of a giver or a taker?
I was raised by a giver and a rather brutal taker, so I re-schooled myself to be a giver as soon as I possibly could. Maybe that is the Second Chance thing?
22. Do you make your decisions with an open heart/mind?
Yes. I owe this to my brothers and sisters in the human race, as well as all the rest of the Earthlings.
23. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you?
When I broke my back being thrown, violently, from a horse. It is still with me 44 years later though of course not as painful. It is something I never thought possible, to get up and walk away and have a back heal itself up, though crookedly. Rodeo riders know all about this, I reckon.
24. What is the most emotionally painful thing that has ever happened to you?
When my mother died. It still hurts at times. I was just getting ready to collect an oral history from her on her next visit. Let this be a lesson to the young ones reading. Get The Elders' stories down.
25. Who have you hugged today?
A quote from the blog I steal things from on Sunday:
'Today we ripped off a blogger named Leo from the blog Leonine's Journal. He was tackling a meme that his blogging site, Live Journal, hosts. It has 5,000 questions. He did 25. So, we will take it from there. Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!"
This is the first 25. And I will do this unless/until it seems like there's more than enough info to attract a rogue drone to my shade patio. Opinions can be deadly even in this "best of all possible worlds" Thank you fellow jail bird, Voltaire.

Thanks to anyone who's read this far.

Wow...these were great questions, and I feel I know you better! I'm sorry about your dad~ I have always thought those with good dad's were so blessed. I had a good dad, but didn't know it until after I was grown, and understood things better. I was 4 years old before he ever saw me, and then only saw him less than a dozen times in my life. But he did love me, and did the best he could.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is a professional organizer. She is the best, and is in high demand, but this year has desided to give it up for her family, because when she is so busy helping others get organized she lets her own home and family flounder. So now, she will concentrate on her own stuff! :)
Thanks for sharing of yourself...and am glad to see you have chose Joy! ♥♥♥
Thanks Cathy for your comments. I might not do the whole 5000 but what a challenge!
DeleteI was organized until starting a business without a store front. Big mistake! lol If I'd have just stuck to tailoring and dressmaking, it would have been fine, though.
I always come back around to joy pretty fast. Counting many blessings is a sure cure!
