The weather on the way home, Friday, from Jo Ann's:
And then it started raining again.
Californians are wild about rain. We just almost never get enough of "Nature's Fecund Blessing". Millions of us now sport rocks and cactus in our front yards, having heeded the pleas from our desperate water districts to change our ways.
Thursday, late, the rain started coming down in buckets. By morning on Friday it was showing us, and poor little Wolfie, not much mercy. Mr. Z got very wet on the morning walk, as he and Wolfie, short legged though Wolfie is, had made it through half their loop before the proverbial cats and dogs started falling from the sky. Then Wolfie put on the gas and pulled for all he was worth on the leash because Wolfie does NOT like to get wet AT ALL! Wild Dog though he may be, he will take cover asap if it rains, even if it only clizzles!
We went to fitness, and it was "spitting" but still sunny enough at our house that I looked around for a rainbow. No luck.
By the time we got to fitness it was sprinkling. Mr. Z let me off close to the building and parked. By the time he got out of the car, the heavens had opened wide but he had put on his rain fly jacket. Ancient Mariner that he is, he can read the signs of the weather's wicked ways. We carry rain fly jackets because summer is the only time, except when it rains in July, the weather doesn't turn on a whim. Or, that a storm in February ( but this is March you say, and well you should..) I repeat, that a storm in February can turn into a gully washing Freak!
After Fitness we went down into the Beautiful Santee Valley to take care of some errands. Near our house it was sunny with floating clouds.
In Santee, well, Mr. Z got another drenching because he asked me to put his rain fly in it's stuff bag, and didn't want to have me yank it back out again.
I'd sort of like to HDRish that, or Lomo-ish it, or even Cross process it. It's lovely in those "schools", enough to be called Accidental Art. Hmmm... Gorgeous thing!
Ya, me too. hehe
Onward to Sunday! Yesterday I went to JoAnn's (in the rain) and spent 11 (count them) 50% off coupons and got a serious Retail High! I think I was UP all day!

My daughter and grandsons still live in CA so we watch the weather there still. We refer to rain as a blue boots day as my 4 year old grandson loves puddles and has blue Thomas the Train rain boots.
ReplyDeleteAren't little kids cute? They all love puddles and even mud if given half a chance to get into it. I can visualize your little grandson happily jumping into puddles in his Thomas the Train boots...lol so sweet!
