I've had a Bonzer day, happily wrecking my body at fitness and then trekking to the dog store to see if we could find something to keep our little wild dog from flinging himself at bed tops that are too high for even me to get into without a stepstool. I think carpentry skills will be called into service very soon.
Dear little Wolfie dog is recovering well enough from whatever happened to him. He's now been prescribed prednisone. But we, as responsible parents, have to make sure he never does it, whatever it was, again.
We think he may have been stashing and watching too many "Dogs in the Wild" videos when we were away, and ignored the dire "Don't try this at home!" warnings. He is always having very exciting dreams; it seems now we may have discovered the source of them! He is, after all, part Husky, though we can't figure out which part of him is Husky.
That Husky "part" is probably the large front paws with which he firmly grips either of us when we try to put him back down or leave him home alone. You've all seen movies where the two year old gets a firm grip on the dad's leg and stays glued there, impeding progress out a door. Now, just add a tail, a snout and big furry ears to the "kid" and you know what we go through.
On to the Desert Frog: Be sure to turn up the sound.. Major cuteness! Thanks to Bee!
We had both tree frogs and toads in the garden when we moved here 40 years ago. But, then the whole upper part of a feeder creek system was channelized. I sure miss those little peepers and croakers. It was so satisfying to my farm girl's heart to be surrounded by real wildlife in an urban setting. But,sadly, all amphibians started to disappear in the early 70's and ours were no exception.
now for the Biking Enthusiasts!: I was also going to share a neat video of 149 bikers in a movie theater for my good friend Dixon, but the thing got stripped out. Let me see if I can find one that will stick!
Yay! Found it!
Partay!
And now for some sweetness from Cheezburger:
I've heard that Huskies have to be in the cold air or they lose their
under-coats. Wolfie has a soft-as-down undercoat, too, and sheds it all
the time. It's actually spinnable! Anyway, the many thumbs
down at the site was a possible sign of disapproval of the apparently outside, exposed cage. I think I'll hitch up the team and mush on up there to have a look see.
I'll have a full report when I return. Sweet dreams! I knit three rows today, about 150 stitches. Hot Doggies! I read a LOT of the two yarn dyeing forums at Ravelry. Does it count?
