Patrick McDonnell is up for a very prestigious award! I hope he wins! He won the Bob Clampett Humanitarian Award in 2011.
Butterfly report:
This Gulf Frittelary came and camped out for several nights in a row this last week or so. It danced around and around the big patch of Geranium, and it settled down for the night. Yesterday morning it was there but it didn't come back last night. I guess it's migrated away. It was lovely to watch it dance around the plant and pick just the right spot to roost. We had several of them in the summer last year, flying and getting nectar from the wall of Cape Honeysuckle flowers.
