Art Imitates life:
Having recently mentioned in Sunday Stealing that an unwashed Human Being was one of my most loathed smells - unwashed dog was the other - I was happily surprised to see the above cartoon in the Sunday Funnies! Even dogs, at least Enos, can't stand the smell of an unwashed human being either! hehe
Cartoons as Art:
There is a show at The California Center For the Arts, in Escondido. I'll try to get up there this week. Lots and Lots to do this week so we'll see. But, I really believe that Cartoons are an art form, a very enjoyable one, so I want to see this show.
Exhibit is through July 28th, admission: $8 for the regular herd, and $5 for slower herd - seniors, most well behaved herd - military and equally well behaved studenthoards herd. 10am to 4pm Thursday through Saturday, and 1 to 4 pm on Sunday. Try this Link to artcenter.org for more info.

Funny how we fail to notice the artistry in a comic strip.
ReplyDeleteAs to the dog smell, I am the lucky gal who really does not notice dog smell unless the creature in question is beyond vile. I think the smell of my own dog is a kind of cozy, comforting scent.
Here! Here! Cheers for the good Mz. Roxie!
ReplyDeleteI remember having lots of dogs when I was a kid, and none of them smelled anything but good to me. Shadow especially was delicious smelling. But as I got older, I've been to places where the dogs were just reeking, and I vowed to never have a dog that smelled like that. Little old ladies can get very fussy. hehe Jazzie was a poodle, and Wolfie is part, so they didn't/don't have any odor at all.
Comic strip artists sometimes show off a little, and it's amazing what they do! I'm still wanting to go that that show but the 26th isn't that far away. We'll see.
