Downer Warning: Saturday 9; the Upper: Saturday Komeekz!

I've fiddled endlessly with this to reset the size of the fonts and can't do it.  Sorry it's so wonky.

Waterfalls

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Unfamiliar with this week's song? Hear it here.

1) This song encourages us to "stick to the rivers and lakes you're used to." What body of water is nearest your home -- pond, lake, river, gulf or sea?

I live nearest to the San Diego River and the Pacific Ocean, very near.  There are no natural lakes anywhere  near me.  There are only reservoirs called "lakes".

2) Have you ever visited a waterfall? If so, please tell us about it.
I've seen two spectacular waterfalls at Yosemite when we visited.  I've seen many seasonal waterfalls, some were artesian wells, in all the Southern California mountains.  Once I wanted to see Niagara Falls but it's not going to happen.  Waterfalls are very calming and if you can sit quietly for a long time, as still as a rock, you can be treated to wildlife coming to get a drink from the pool at the base.

3) This song is from a CD entitled CrazySexyCool. Which word best describes how you feel today: Crazy, sexy or cool?
Nowadays, I always feel Crazy.  I never feel sexy or "cool".  When I was younger, I did. hehe

4) The girls in TLC originally began hanging around together in an Atlanta-area hair salon. When did you last sit in a stylist's chair?
When I was 15 and got an accidental Afro - given to me by another salon cut off.  I got all my hair cut into what was a "Joan of Arc" cut from the movie where the actress got her hair cut very short.  I believe it started being called a "Pixie".  It was very cute but a shock - even after the Afro, to my friends.  When I was 16, I started cutting my own hair.  It was a case of self defense.
5) While she she spent her adolescence in Atlanta, bandmember Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins was born in Des Moines. Do you live in or near the town where you were born?

No, I was a war baby.  Otherwise I would have been born in Hollywood, where my parents resided before my paternal unit was drafted and Mother moved back to the East.  She followed him until he was shipped over seas.

6) One of T-Boz' recent public appearances was on the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Do you watch any of the popular Bravo Real Housewives shows?

I've never seen a single one of those nor the Beverly Hills version either. I'm usually too busy doing other things to watch any current show.

7) In the 1990s, band member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes was romantically involved with an Atlanta Falcons football player. They shared his upscale, two-story mansion. How would you describe your abode (house, cottage, apartment, condo, studio, etc.)?

It's a tract house.  Small.  The only thing it lacks is a bigger (read gigantic) lot for gardening, hen raising, two mini-goats -yes we can have these creatures- and an orchard of fruit trees.

8) Ms. Lopes was accused of arson when, after the couple argued, that mansion happened to burn down. When was the last time you lost your temper? How did you express your anger? (If it was with a criminal act, you may wish to keep it to yourself.)

I used to get mad at criminal levels of greed and still will do actually.  Now I'm struggling with sadness rather than rage because nothing has changed in 52 years.

9) Today the third member of TLC, Chilli, designs personalized handbags. They cost about $225 each. What's the most expensive thing you have bought recently?

Food, which is money well spent.  If only everyone had money for food.....

And now, Wally Gets a Bath!  Drabble...

Skittle Skittle! lol
Wolfie, now fully recovered except for needing daily eye drops, went to the groomer a few days ago.  The groomer told us that she turned around and spotted him behind her.  He must follow her around like a puppy because she gives him really delicious treats on his visits.

She looked at him and said, "Wolfie, you look like you are homeless!"  His face was mucky from the sticky medicines he'd had to have for about a month, even though we did clean most of it off, a lot stuck there, sort of like hair gel!   He was also very shaggy with his winter cut.  I actually like the scruffy look best but, oh well.  heehee.  Recently I came across the pictures of when he first came home.

Poor little skinny boy

And he was nearly hairless
Now, of course, he's really happy, full of life, and well fed.  He was listed as a "timid little dog" at the pound site.  He's a Tiger for life now!   It scares me to think we could have missed him and maybe others wouldn't have taken a chance on this wonderful little guy.

After a romp, with Poppa, late last year.
You all have a calm, peaceful, and fun even if rowdy, Saturday and Sunday.

  1. Mr BC was a war baby. They were in San Luis Obispo. My MIL always said she would have stayed there once he went overseas, if she hadn't been pregnant with Mr BC.

  2. Your Wolfie is adorable! He could be the twin of the dog that my childhood best friend had -- Bear. He was such a sweet-natured animal!

    1. Thank you, Kelly! We got so lucky when this little guy came out to meet us at the pound. He rolled over and his back, fixed me with those big brown eyes, and that was IT! We call him Baby Bear because he looks like a cub when he's on his back and waving those little short legs around.

  3. awwwwwww I just think your dog is adorable! Niagra Falls are cool, but there are such huge crowds, there isn't anything calming or peaceful about them. Although - I'd like to see them now, because it's been so cold for so long.. When I was younger, my mother would call ahead to the salon while I was walking up there and tell them "give her a Dorothy Hamill". I can't tell you how much I hated Dorothy Hamill, and if I ever meet her - have a discussion about her hairstyle choices.

    1. Thank you, Kathy! He's just so lovely. And about those famous Falls. Did you see the pictures of it when it froze over a couple months ago? If not, go find them as it's AWESOME!

Lol about Dorothy Hamill! I learned to cut that wedge into my semi curly hair. It didn't look like Dorothy's but curly hair is a witch to deal with at any length. It turned out pretty cute though.

  5. Cute pup! I remember the days of pixie cuts. And then came the shag.

    1. Thanks! Oh Lordy I forgot about the shag. I never got one I don't think - curly hair did it's own thing. After the pixie, The Bubble soon blossomed I think. Those were painful, and of course I had to have one because so many friends had them. By then I was married.

    1. Thank you! He is adorable and Spoiled rotten! About Niagara Falls: if you are near enough to catch trains to the place, you should see them! I think there are trains out of Chicago but I've been wrong about so many things lately.

  7. Love, LOVE your puppy's story and the photos. It's wonderful that you gave him a second chance, but as "fur mom" to three rescues myself, I know you feel you have been more than repaid in affection and joy.

    1. Well, Bud, feeling crazy may just be a stage of life. It may last a long time but what the hay? It is what it is. Enjoy the madness and you are half way to happiness. Just remember the great, mad, characters in movies, and feel the kinship! :)
