Saturday Nine- Harper Valley is exactly where?

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Saturday 9: Harper Valley PTA (1968)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it  HERE

1) This week's featured artist uses her middle initial (C. for Carolyn) all the time. Do you use your middle initial very often?
A. Almost always.

2) In this song, a mother tells off the local PTA. What's the most recent school event you attended -- whether as a parent, a teacher or a student?
A.  Our DD's graduation from U.C. Berkeley last year.

3) The lyrics reference the mom's miniskirts, which were trendy in the 1960s. The website Popsugar reports that gingham checks are trendy for 2015. Tell us about the most recent addition to your wardrobe.
A.  I have to laugh because gingham checks were "trendy" when I was in Jr. Hi.  And to answer the question, I can't remember when I last bought anything but a purse or shoes.  Does that count?

4) Thinking of moms, Access Hollywood named Carol Brady of The Brady Bunch TV's #1 mom. Who is your favorite TV mom?
A.  I have to give this a pass because I just don't watch T.V. shows.

5) Mother Winters always gave Sam peppermint tea to calm her stomach. Do you have any tried-and-true home remedies to share?
A.  Naps?

6) Sam's mother always tips 15% in restaurants. Sam has worked in food service and is more judgmental, tipping between 10% and 25%, depending on the quality of the service. What's your tipping policy? Are you more like Sam or her mother?
A. Bad service gets 10% and that's the last time we go there.  We have almost never had service that was that bad, though, and it's usually 20% or a little more..sometimes quite a bit.  My aunt was a waitress her whole adult life so I know how hard servers work for their money.

7) When the tip of her shoelace becomes frayed, Sam's mother snips off the end and then paints the tip with clear nail polish. Good as new! Sam thinks that's crazy because you can just buy new laces for less than $2. Are you more frugal like mother or spendthrift like daughter?
A. Frugal.

8) Mother Winters loves how french vanilla smells and burns her Yankee Candles all year around. Do you use scented candles or air fresheners?
A. No, I don't.  I've got so many allergies that it would be very bad to do so.  Just going into a candle shop isn't wise for me.  I'd like to keep breathing.

9) Sam is celebrating Mother's Day with her mother's favorite, Hershey Bars. Would you prefer classic milk chocolate, dark chocolate or chocolate with almonds?
A. I don't eat Hershey's chocolate,, sorry.  I do like dark chocolate or chocolate with nuts but also like the taste of milk chocolate from time to time, like in S'mores.

  2. I think a nap is a great home remedy. I never go into candle stores, either, nor do I frequent stores that sell the very smelly ones. I like breathing, too.

  3. Naps! They certainly cure what ails me, anyday.

  4. Naps are kind of like restarting your computer if you ask me

  5. Ah yes, Naps are many things, and restarting the poor old brain is a good part of it.

Thank you all! Country Dew, there are far too many artificial chemical smells in many scented items, too.

And yes my fellow bloggers and Niners, Naps become a specialty as you develop the art of spacing out. hehe.. And thank you about the shoes and purses, too. Men will never understand these things. All they have is pockets, and we have to mend those pockets because they carry stupid, too heavy things in them. hehe..
