Sunday Stealing, The Martial Arts Meme

The Martial Arts Meme

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes (or surveys) from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard the expression, “honor among thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we try to credit the blog that we stole it from. When possible, we contact the owner of the blog where we stole the post. We also provide a link to the victim's meme in our "Previous Victims" widget. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") Sometimes we edit the original meme, to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, to select the best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from this new meme or recently asked questions from a previously featured meme.

We found this gem from a rather weird Martial Arts Site.  There were random cartoons and pictures of women on the page, but this one was as silly as any. It was called "Random Questions" but since we've had at least a dozen memes (or surveys) named some variation of that we just made a new name up. I guess I should shout,

Cheers to all of us thieves!!

Sunday Stealing: The Martial Arts Meme

Who was the last person that you held hands with?
My DH.  We do that sometimes when we watch Netflix or are driving somewhere in the car.

Are you loud, outgoing or shy?
I am outgoing, though shy, and this is because I greet everyone like a brother or sister, because that is exactly what they are to me.

Who are you looking forward to see?
Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm looking forward to seeing my daughter again.

Are you easy to get along with?
I'm pretty easy to get along with if you aren't mean to my kids.  Then I never forget that.  That has been extended to how a person treats ALL the people and the animals.  Mean people do suck, even if they are, ostensibly, viewed as brothers and sisters.

Have you ever given up on someone, only to let them back into your lives? Why?
Yes, because I forgave someone for what he'd done to me.  Then he proceeded to abuse that trust, and out he went again.

If you were ill, which TV doctor or nurse would you want to take care of you?
I don't know any doctors from Television.  None.

Does talking about sex make you uncomfortable?
Yes, I don't think it's really something to be talked about with people other than a spouse/lover.  You know, the one who is concerned.

Who was the last person that you had serious conversation with?
When we went up north to try to see our daughter before she died, I -we- had a serious discussion with our children and Elle's partner.  We didn't get to talk to her because she passed away while we were two hours away.
As her parents, it fell to us to make decisions for her and talked them over with her sisters and partner.

What was the last text message you received about?
I saw the full moon, and remembered that my sister and I used to howl at it.  So I texted her a "yip yip yeow," with a ghost sticking out it's tongue.  She texted me back with another "yip yip yeow, and some Halloweenie emoji.

Do you believe in luck and/or miracles?
I do believe in luck.  But I don't believe in miracles anymore.

What good thing happened this summer?
Can't deal with this one.

Convince us why we should or should not believe in life on other planets?
I personally believe that we have had visitors from other planets, but I'm not going to try to convince anyone about it.  The evidence is there, though it's ancient, and we have other more modern evidence of something going on.
DH and I have both seen an UFO from our front yard in 1970.  It behaved much like most other people describe these things when they are lights.  This was not explainable as anything but alien, the way it moved, it's brilliant light,  and then how it accelerated away.
I have always known a lot about aircraft, their types and their abilities.  Nothing the Navy- or any military - could have made  would have been able to fly like it, or was capable of behaving like it did.
This was a live changing experience.

Who was your first crush on?
It was on a boy in my third grade class.

Favorite part of daily routine?
crosswords with breakfast and a little chocolate.

Do you like your neighbors?
Yes, the neighborhood has changed over the years and the old guard is mostly gone.  Too many who were here were very stuck up and exclusive.  Now we have much more friendly people left who are not mean.

What’s your worst feature?
I'm old and wrinkled and beyond caring about how I look  Let's talk best:  my best feature is still my eyes.

Have you ever had trust issues?
From childhood yes, and I've never liked the family dynamic I married into.  It was brutal and didn't affect me as much as it affected my daughters.  It's a shame because I came to them with a wide open heart.  My comfort is that someone outside the family confirmed this many years later, without my saying anything.  So I wasn't crazy after all.

Thank you for playing this week on Sunday Stealing! Please leave a comment or link when you have posted. Stop back and visit other player’s posts. That is really what this is all about, making new friends! Have a great week. See you next Sunday!

  1. Come on! You don't know ANY doctors from TV? Not Marcus Welby or Ben Casey or Dr. Kildare? And on daytime, I grew up on Dr. Joe Martin on All My Children and Dr. Bob Hughes on As the World Turns. I bet you just drew a blank when you hit the question. I know when I see other people's responses, I say, "D'oh."

  2. I didn't watch TV except for PBS, and raising four kids while doing part time jobs, it gets very busy in a house. I sewed most of their clothes and mine. One summer I made 24 white blouses, a dozen each for the twins who went to a private school for awhile. Very busy.
When I was growing up there were strict controls, and punishments, over the TV. Mother let us watch cartoons but we weren't supposed to. However, I did grow up watching the Friday Night Fights, and Harry Owens and the Royal Hawaiians.
I do know some screen Doctors from Netflix, Grey, and House, that last came as a reminder, which we did watch. House, I wouldn't let touch me with a ten foot thermometer! Scary old drug riddled jerk. Grey was too busy having sex with so many people that I sort of wouldn't want her on my case. NO thank you.
