Thursday Thirteen: Resolutions.. the To Do list of important stuff.

Yes, only 13.  And that's because I consider 13 to be a lucky number, since it represents "Fellowship, with mankind, in the open".  This from the Book of Changes.

1. To keep breathing in and out is still top of the list.

2. Keep on tossing, bundling, re-purposing, and organizing the habitat.  I'll keep digging all the detritus out of odd corners, and give extra crafting stuff to Santa Cruz women's guilds.

3. Take good care of Wolfie, who is starting to age a bit.

4. Knit these for the little kids in chemo at Laura's hospital.  This pattern was a free one from Ravelry.  The talented Ms. Wei S. Leong created these.  Very sweet and perfect for the purpose.

5. Keep looking at the sky and take more pictures of it!  That thing is gorgeous and just can make a person's day happier.  I won't (I promise) share every last one, but this on the way to and from Santee Valley last week.

6. Work in the garden a little on every fair day of the coming year.  Finish Laura's garden which at the moment is full of the little exuberant winter weeds.  Since the birds and even  eat them, they must not be pulled up just yet.

7. Try to get my shoulders and hand resolved without surgery.  I'm too old for that song and dance.  Recovery is a brass plated B, and I'm still not completely over the last emergency surgery.

9.  Stop eating so much sugery stuff, but this one is dead easy.  I'm the baker here in La Casita Z,  and I passed that "Hat" on to the Good Will.  I wear my toque only in the gaming community. (Doing so has helped me to stay away from unwanted and rather huge-ish pies and cakes in real life.)

10. Go down to the Sea more.  My soul is connected to the Ocean.  I need to be near it to survive.  I like being there and being in the Ocean.  I haven't been in the water for years and it's mystery has not been able to soak into my skin and make it feel like I belong to the Earth.

11.  Stay on the Spiritual path I'm on.  To be enlightened is to be Real.

12. Love everyone, and when the hurt comes back, remind myself that I must forgive it over and over again to be Christ like and to be a Real Human Being.

13.  Remember the promise to  Walk.  Just do it.  I'll get my baffoon off the chair and walk.

  1. Great list. Environmentally conscious. I especially like number 12, to strive to follow Christ's example.

  2. Thank you, forgetfulone. I think of Christ as the best of teachers.

You also have twins! And you are a teacher, too! Lovely indeed. My plans to train as a special ed teacher got flattened but, I'm happy to have had the chance to raise four daughters and pass environmentalism on the the next generations through them.

  3. Great list. I hope you achieve them all. I know some days are tougher than others, so be kind to yourself on the days you slip.

    1. Thank you, CountryDew for the encouragement and kindness.
Some days it feels like we've been poll axed and others are more peaceful. Time is the healer, and maybe knitting.

    1. True. There is much peace to be found in both, Colleen. Controlling breath is an ancient remedy for anxieties. And the sky has been a human being's auger of the future since cavemen marveled at the clouds and stars.

    1. Thank you, Novroz, and a Happy New Year to you, too.
Surgery seems like the only thing to do at this point. Last year in January I put it off because my daughter had just been diagnosed. We all do what we must, even if delayed by the fickle finger of fate, eh?
