Both Thankful Thursday and Thursday13: Rabbit madness

Yes, there are 13
I'm crazy about rabbits, and have the scars to prove it.  They kick and can be pretty obstreperous.   We had Angela, the Attack Rabbit.  She was the very best mother because she didn't let anyone near her babies.

If you have never seen a tiny, four week old Holland Lop rabbit sizing up a "Great Wall of Cardboard" and crouching to jump over it before letting fly, trust me, you've missed out on one of the best Happiness Buttons you can push.

  1. Love the bunnies. Joe raised them once for meat but it was too hard. We got wild ones here too that like the garden.

    1. Fellow Bunny lover, I send a bunnie hug.

My bro and I had a Cotton tail rabbit as a pet. It was so tiny and adorable. Happily, it didn't get eaten; the vet we took it to for a parasite in it's leg, made us promise to release it back into the wild.
We used to eat rabbit, too. And mother gave me a little black runt to raise as a pet.
Months later, when I was away at church, my parents killed and dressed him. That was a heart stopper. I still have his little pelt. Such cruelty, but that's life on a farm.

  2. Both Gwennie and Totem always get surprised by bunnies in the yard...and they're gone.

    1. The wild ones are so tiny they can slip right through chain link fence at golf courses. I'm glad the grounds keepers on golf courses have taken the high road and stopped killing them.

I’m going through some stuff but I will peek in now and then and will be back when it’s over..
