Is your forte the Piano? Saturday 9... Thanks Sam!

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love to answer the questions, however, and here is today's questions!

Saturday 9: Piano (2013)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
And if you'd like to play along... go HERE
1) As she sings, Ariana muses about the songs she could compose on her piano. Do you play the piano?  No.  But I really regret getting rid of our little piano because, now, I probably would play it.  It would be an ease to my mind.  And the kids could play it when they come to visit.

2) She compares love songs, saying there are sad ones about how hard love is, and happy ones that make you want to dance. What's your favorite love song? Is it sad or happy?
It's sort of Happy and Sad at the same time, almost like a real life love story....

I sort of always believed,

true or not that it may be,
that the "three part Harmony"
was from Heaven,
And was the Holy Trinity.

*I typed that out as a sentence but it turned out to be one of my bits of accidental doggerel. I do like it's cadences.

3) Ariana's mother always told her that they took her name from Princess Oriana in the 1988 movie Felix the Cat. Who is your favorite cartoon character?
I like Foghorn Leghorn.  He didn't get a lot of LOVE from all the cartoon fan clans, but he was just hilarious to me. But of course, this was at a time when I had Bully, my Leghorn rooster....

4) Ariana's favorite board game is Monopoly. What's your favorite board game?
I liked playing Acey Deucey,  sort of Backgammon, but not. But what about cards?  I like Cribbage.  That was fun and no darn cards to count.

5) She relaxes by baking. When you feel keyed up, what do you do to relax?
I knit and watch old movies, but lately I just run all over the Land of Insta, in search of birds.

6) She is a huge Florida Panthers fan, even though once, as a little girl, she got hit by a puck. Now that the NHL season is underway, how's your favorite team doing?
I never watch Hockey.

7) In 2013, when this song was popular, the NHL reached an agreement with the players union and averted a strike. Have you ever belonged to a union?
No.  But I used to walk picket lines with Mr. Z, who was a steward in a union. And, I have very few kind things to say about what I feel has happened to the American Worker or about their devalued place in the American economy.  Chickens will come home to roost - maybe sooner than vulture capitalists want to admit.

8) Also in 2013, Pauline Philips died. Ms. Philips was better known to millions of readers as "Dear Abby." At its height, her advice column appeared in 1,400 newspapers across the country. Do you still read a printed copy of your newspaper?
Is this the daughter who took over her mother's column?  I don't read either of the two sister's columns, though I once did.  And yes, we get a printed paper, but we don't read it.  We like the crosswords in it.  Generally speaking, it's a rag..

9) If you could get the answer to one question about your future, what would that one question be?  The future being as short a time as a second from now, I want to know if the movie we got two days ago is any good.  Since this is being answered on Friday, dinner is pizza.  Friday is Pizza and Movie Night!  Little Moments.. Little Joys!  Sometimes you just have to, have to, have such treasured times out there for ya...

  1. What movie did you get, and IS it any good? Inquiring minds want to know. I think we have a rooster out back. Maybe even two. There is crowing coming from our backyard each morning and evening, so I would say it's pretty good possibility, eh? Still learning about chickens, though... heh. Completely agree with you about the American worker. >:(

    1. Well, we didn't watch it last night. So, It's called, "Going in Style". It's PG-13 and the trailer's a little too racy for here. lol It seems to be one of those comedic reactions to the phrase "too big to fail" that was fobbed off on the workers who lost their pensions and their entire life savings....
ChiknZ-R-Fun but it takes time to get the hang of it. The roosters can be eaten, if you are into those sorts of things. It's better than what happens to them in the Hi velocity egg producing culture of America. You don't want to know... I wish I didn't.... *shivers*

  2. Thanks for sharing that blast from the past! I used to love that song...wasn't it originally done by Three Dog Night? Anyway, I, who rarely gets caught by an ear worm, will be singing that one all day.
Foghorn Leghorn was hilarious! I forget about him since you don't see him much.
What was your movie? Was it good?

    1. You're welcome. And yes, the first release was Three Dog Night, but this guy is the singer/songwriter, and I love the Muppet's rendition. lol
Foghorn is so much like my gigantic rooster, Bully. He was blind in one eye because he picked a fight with Henry, my little Bantam rooster. And poor Bully lost. I really loved those guys.
Movie is scrolled for tonight.. hope we can get it watched, I really liked the trailer.

    1. Darling Foghorn... He was just absolutely spot on for a Leghorn. They get HUGE,and they are bossy and gentle at the same time. Bully was pretty impressive strutting around the barnyard.

  4. Foghorn Leghorn was a cool cartoon. They don't make 'em like that anymore. I like your notion about the three part harmony. That had never occurred to me.

    1. He is, and I'm glad that he gets it back from that poor dog every once in awhile, too.
And they don't make them like that anymore either. This was the first time I ever saw these cartoons in color. When I was watching them, they were always in black and white.
That song came out at the height of my "Jesus is just alright with me" phase. So I immediately made that connection. It sounded like a love song from Heaven. Also, I'm really good at hearing what I want to hear, and at misinterpretation. ;o)

    1. Me, too. I miss them. Some of the newer ones are very beautiful, but not all. Some look really trashy and thrown together. No art in it. And very P.C. which isn't bad. I gasped at some of the old ones reviewed for this post!

  6. I used to play Acey Deucey! I had forgotten about it but used to play for hours with my sisters.

    1. Isn't it fun? I still love that game. Good memories, a scream of agony in the night from a losing player, waking up half the camp ground. No, not me.. er.. someone else...points at Mr. Z.

  7. Foghorn had the perfect "I say boi" (not sure how I would spell his 'boy'). I once read that there is a double for Melania who actually stands in for her in photos so she won't have to. I wonder if it's true.

    1. If I was married to that hairpiece, I think I'd be doing that, too. And, "How about them Bombshells"? ;o)

  8. My father used to play Cribbage and he tried to teach it to me... but I was rebellious back then of anything my father wanted me to do.

    1. Cribbage is dead easy. It's also fun because there's virtually NO skill involved. Just Dumb Luck, which I seem to have in abundance with that game. Not with anything else, but that game loves me....
