A quiz for Grown-Ups
Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on the WTIT Blog with Bud Weiser.
Here we will steal all types of questions from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions. You may have heard the expression, “honor among thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we try to credit the blog that we stole it from, if possible. We also provide a link to the victim's questions in our "Previous Victims" widget. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") Sometimes we edit the original meme, to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, to select the best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from recently asked questions from a previously post.
Cheers to all of us thieves!

And a BIG THANK you to Bev, who bravely took over this MEME!

From Jennifer Whitton-Trujillo from Facebook
1. What bill do you hate paying the most?
Medical bills, dental bills. I think, "Well, there goes the house paint, or the stucco re-do, or the baseboards" It's just.... never ending...
2. What do you really want to be doing right now?
I'd like to be knitting and watching a chick flick
3. Why did you choose the shirt you have on now?
Because it's a sweater and it's warm.
4. Thoughts on gas prices?
Gas in California is always high. I blame it on a pricing system we call the "Wimsey of the Oil companies", since it hits during summer when everyone and their dog is traveling to or around California on Vacation. Locally it's called, The WOC additive. And then there are some State of California environmental taxes added here. I hate the first kind and gladly pay the second.
5. First thought when the alarm goes off in the morning
We aren't subject to an alarm, other than Wolfie, that is, who starts in about 4 am to want to be fed. I don't have to feed him but Mr.Z does, so he gets up and stays up. But, having said that, my first thought is, "What time is it?"
6. Last thought you have before you go to sleep?
"Think of Nothing...."
7. Do you miss being a child?
No, I will never miss mine. Besides it's really true about second childhoods being happier, and I'm not suggesting that dreadful, horrible disease that so many people are dealing with, but just the happy living in the moment that little children under the age of 6 get to do.
8. What errand/chore do you despise the most?
Vacuuming and dusting. I just can not keep up with that anymore! I need to clear everything away and get a rumba.

I should have asked for one of these for Christmas and my birthday! |
9. Up early or sleep in?
As much as I'd like to be up early, I can't seem to get to sleep earlier now. So I sleep in to around 7 or 8. But it's getting better.
10. Favorite lunch meat?
I don't eat it. I never, EVER, touch the stuff.
11. What do you get every time at Trader Joe’s?
Organic Fruits and vegetables. AND....BIG bars of Dark Chocolate. hmmmmm!
Beach, no contest!
SOURCE PAGE I like # 8 at this page. |
13. Ever crashed your vehicle?
I have had fender benders here and there but never totaled.

14. Strangest place you've brushed your teeth?

15. Somewhere you've never been but want to go?
I'd have liked to have seen Europe. If I was young, I would take off and see it especially now that Eastern European and all the Balkan countries are free. I mourned for them for so long, and I'd just love to see them, and meet the people.
16. At this point in your life would you want to start a new career?
Nope. I'll leave that to the young people.
17. Do you own your own house?
Yes, we do.
18. Do you have a go-to person?
For advice? Yes.
19. Are you where you want to be in life?
I took an aptitude test in high school. In it several questions were asked about what I wanted out of life. Well, I wanted a family, and (at that time) to be an artist, and to be comfortable regarding material gains, not filthy rich, but comfortable. Yes, I am where I want to be, well almost.... I'd like to be able to quilt or knit with my daughters, and have tea and bake cookies with them, and then life could be perfect.
20. Growing up, what were your favorite cartoons?
I liked Foghorn Leghorn, and also, Rocky and Bullwinkle . That dastardly villain, Boris Badenov, was so much fun...
21. What has changed since you were a child?
There is nothing, not a single thing that is the same as when I was a child (even cooking) except that this country is at War. Sadly, that hasn't changed at all.
So, in 75 years, this country has had less than a handful of years where we were not at war with someone or other. Statistically, War has to be declared. In my play book, war is when you are sending armies out to kill other people and take over their land, and some of your soldiers are dying there. Some wasn't all the fault of our leaders, but loads of it is...
22. Looking back at high school, were they the best years of your life?
Please excuse me while I have a laughing fit?

It's not all fun and games... |
23. Are there times you still feel like a kid?
I feel better than I EVER did as a kid. So, no..
24. Did you have a pager?
Yes, I got a pager when my rockhound friends saw how distraught I was to not know why Mr. Z was so late, and they suggested he get me one. There was a huge jam up on the freeway...
25. Were you the type of kid you want your kids to hang out with?
I was a studious and athletic kid who liked people, had goals, and possessed a wicked sense of humor. I also stayed out of trouble, mostly for my mother's sake, so yes, I think I'd have liked to hang out with my own kids, and have them hang out with me. I'd have rather not had to be their parent because you can't be a pal to your kids. You have to be tremendously responsible for not slipping up and raising criminals, for one thing.
I love the new layout!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't remember all the cartoons I loved as a kid--Rocky & Bullwinkle! I loved them!
Why thank you. I thought Spring needed to be up. And, Violá! Found clouds and poppies to go with the header. Blogs need to be fun!
DeleteI have a better memory for pictures than anything else, and my memories and thoughts are dotted with them. Thus, an onerous amount of trivia later, I can remember stuff that should have been gone long ago. But Alas....
When you look back, the 20th century was certainly a time of incredibly rapid change and it continues in the 21st. It's a shame that an awful lot of it has not been for the better.
ReplyDeleteI don't see it quite the way you do, though you make some good points.
DeleteMy take is that we were taken to the cleaners several times over. I see that far too many American lives have been squandered by puppet masters who controlled the resources, and the wheels of government. I'm not a liberal, I am a realist. I don't care for the left and right thinking that divides us. It's just another ploy by the power elites.
Enjoyed all your answers, and I love the clouds in your header. It is sad how terrible childhoods just frame your whole life, isn't it.
ReplyDeleteFirst things first. Thank you about the new header things. I just thought, darn it. Spring is coming. Enough with the winter theme!
DeleteAnd now... for something completely different.
Indeed, sadly, our childhoods make us into people that we never expected to be, but sometimes if we build strength out of that train wreck of a childhood, we can do amazing things.
Children should always have an advocate in their lives, and if it can't be a parent then perhaps an aunt or a grandparent, or a teacher or church counselor, all of whom can, and should, step in and help. Because all troubled children need an advocate. This is something that I was training to be when my own twins went feral. Some would say that was God guiding me away. And to that I say, pish posh. God isn't mean like that.
Count me as someone who loves the new look too! I enjoyed the web site about the bears. Reminded me of a camping trip we took where, when we woke up, there was a bear sitting in the front seat of another camper's truck. I had heard him sniffing around our tent in the middle of the night...which was VERY scary!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like the new look, too. I'm soooo over winter! I'm glad liked that site.
DeleteOh my Lions and Tigers and Bears... That sure is a funny bear story, even if it was a little scary at the time. I love that the bear tried to figure out the vehicle. lol
Bears will be very patient with humans as long as the humans give them the room. They have terrible eyesight, and humans should always allow for it.
I've had an extremely close encounter, in Sequoia, with a huge sow with two cubs. But I moved slowly, put down the oatmeal pan she wanted and backed s-l-o-w-l-y away...
Hey Zips! I would love a roomba as well, but BUT, I saw an ad on TV that Huskraowieadfaskdf (you know the mowers) now has a YARD roomba! Imagine that. It goes all day long, you charge it at night and put it out the next day. An answer to an old gals prayers. Have a great week!! xoxo Mair
ReplyDeleteMair, maybe Santa will bring me one this year, and if so, I hope that he will bring you one too!
DeleteAnd that Yard roomba is amazing. I wonder, if someone tries to steal it while it's running maybe it shreds their sleeves and gives them a good scare? hehehe
I love the new blog look! Very Springish! :) Made my day.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shannon, and now you have made my day! I love Spring even when it just seems like a cooler summer this year. It was 90 a couple of weeks ago. Again!
