Wordless Wednesday.. Nat Geo Pledge...Planet or Plastic..

  1. I can never forget the scene from Mrs. Robinson where Dustin Hoffman is given a tip about the future with one word "plastic." It sickens me, literally and emotionally.

    1. Yes... we share this feeling. That's exactly how I feel about plastic. We are drowning in it.

    1. I will be sure to, Dora. And thanks for your visit. My attention is becoming sketchy but I'll come over there soon.
We certainly do need to stop this plastic mania we've run wild with. The Planet certainly won't survive if the Oceans die...

  3. We started incorporating a monthly beach clean into our 'Service Project' repertoire when my son got into Junior Honor Society in Middle School (roughly 4 years ago) and it is just astounding how much plastic we pick up. Now my daughter just got accepted into JHS and so we will be continuing this for awhile. Maybe someday it will lessen someday.

    Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks so much for your school's and your daughters ... and your(!) efforts to save the Oceans. Earth isn't called Planet Ocean by some scientists without a good reason. It's mostly ocean, our .. toilet.. it seems. Sad to think too much about it. But, things are changing.. the bans on plastic grocery bags and plastic straws is HUGE!

  4. The videos of plastic in the ocean are horrifying! And microplastics from polyester fabrics are impossible to get out of the waterways. Sometimes I think we are doomed.

    1. I think humans are going to have to change or the Oceans WILL die, and there goes the the second of two "lungs" that keep the Oxygen levels stable. We've already decimated the forests, which will recover if we stop electing the worst people to places of power. It's going to almost take a miracle but it can be done.
