When it's gone, Baby, it's gone...The Ogallala Aquifer... Updated as of December 28th, 2022

UPDATED go here for newest news on this... It's coming....

USGS Topo map source HERE  I don't know about you, but I find this a little frightening.  I’m quiting any other social media. I love you there but it’s a big time waster for me.

I think, as someone who has studied Geology both in Uni and as a matter of deep personal interest, and someone who had grandparents who farmed, that these two things are intimately related.

The Warning was clear: Don't pump it out or you might regret it... Guess what?  It's been nearly pumped out. We were warned!

Nine years ago, the Washington Post wrote THIS extensive article on the problem.

  1. Interesting. I am in So Ca and have experienced many earthquakes, but none that hurt me. My grandma told me about her kitchen table collapsing during the 1933 Long Beach 6.4 earthquake. I remember a few like the Whitter Narrows in 1987 which was close to me. The water was sloshing out of our spa and things fell off the wall, a few cracks appeared. I was still in bed but raced down the hall to check my boys. Did I say I hate earthquakes!

    1. You live in a very active area so I don’t doubt you hate them! I’ve now lived through so many that I’m glad to live off the worst of the faults. Santa Cruz worries me though. All my kids are there. That North Ridge one up in your area was horrible.
