Origins of a name…. Not mine but interesting…
South German: from the ancient Germanic personal name Haimo a short form of various compound names beginning with haim ‘home’. Jewish (Ashkenazic): from the Yiddish personal name Khayim from Hebrew ḥayim ‘life’. See also Kaim. Norwegian: habitational name from a farmstead named Heim from Old Norse heimr ‘home farmstead settlement’ or in some cases a more recent ornamental formation from heim ‘home’.
