Churchy, fresh out of hybernation and looking for a fight.

He was trying to catch some warming sun on a pretty cloudy day. He is also on the look out for his little son, so that he can have the fun of ramming him into a small space and otherwise intimidating Lucky. I have to find Lucky first to stop this process. Tortoises parents are none to kind to their offspring.  Posted by Picasa

    You're welcome Karen. Oh yes, they are pretty aggressive, those torts. The males fight the females during "courtship" and sometimes rip the scales off their front legs. I keep the brute away from Poko Ono, my female, most of the time.
