This is a beautiful campground near Ft. Bragg in California. It's very near the coast. If you get to Mendocino County, and want to stay somewhere pretty, try this one. Ft. Bragg itself is a gorgeous little town, and Glass Beach is pretty close, too. Glass beach is where you can gather bits of sand polished glass to use in just about any way you can dream up.MacKerricher State Park
Nice pictures. I always loved the view of the cypresses in the morning/evening fog when I lived in Monterey.
ReplyDeleteit looks very much like Mississippi? Isn't that strange? Must be the swampy feel to the photo. :-)
ReplyDeleteKaren, the whole of Central Coast is lovely in the fog. So mysterious.
ReplyDeleteRissa, I really think it does on foggy days, look like Mississippi. There are lots of foggy days up there. We don't get ground mists much in California, but lots of fog rolls in off the ocean most of the year. There are lots of ferns and mosses growing in the forests from Central Coast all the way North. Even Spanish moss is catching on along the coast. I think it's an escapee, but it might be native to the area.
See, I thought "Ft. Bragg is an Army base it is so not that pretty". Your Ft Bragg is 3000 miles away from mine! It's so pretty.
